This popular Edo-era shichimi pepper specialty shop was named for the place it started business some 370 years ago, Ryogoku’s Yagenbori. The shop moved to its current location in Shin-Nakamise in 1943.
Shichimi pepper is a blend of seven ingredients, including hot pepper, Chinese pepper, poppy seeds, hempseed, sesame, and more. The shop accepts orders of custom blends. |

When Yoshikami first opened its doors in 1951, it could only seat ten. But now Yoshikami has expanded to accommodate the rush of customers that show up daily for their popular hashed-beef on rice with special demiglace sauce (\1,100), which sells out quite quickly.
Come to the only restaurant in town that posts a sign asking its customers to “Forgive us for serving such extraordinarily delicious food!”
